Kitchen fitting in Chelmsley Wood

What should you know before starting in Chelmsley Wood?

Work like this in Chelmsley Wood rarely needs planning permission, but parts of the job must meet Building Regulations — certified electrical work, ventilation or energy-efficiency standards, for example. Your quote shows how each part is signed off. If planning does come into it, say for a listed building, Solihull Council is the authority.

Turning another room into a kitchen is likely to need Building Regulations approval, from Solihull Council or a registered building control approver.
Moving a sink is simplest along an outside wall, where the waste can fall to a drain.
Adding sockets to an existing kitchen circuit isn't notifiable, as kitchens aren't classed as special locations.

Supply and fit

We measure, help you plan the layout, order the units, worktops and appliances, and fit everything. You get one price covering the kitchen and the work, with one firm responsible for both. It's the simplest route if you want somebody else to deal with deliveries, missing parts and making sure everything that arrives fits the room.

Kitchen with a new open-plan layout

When a kitchen goes in alongside a knock-through or extension, the steel position, lighting, sockets and radiators are planned around the kitchen design. Fitting the kitchen last, after plastering and screeding are finished and dry, protects the new units and means the flooring can run through both rooms without joins.

What does your new kitchen cost in Chelmsley Wood?

Expect to budget between £2,200 and £28,000 depending on size and specification in Chelmsley Wood. Supply and fit of a mid-range 10–12 unit kitchen with laminate worktops in a three-bed semi: typically £10,500–£14,500.

Your questions answered

Can I buy my own kitchen and have you fit it?

Yes. Many customers buy from a trade counter, a retailer or online and ask us to fit it. We'd suggest letting us measure the room before you order, so the plan matches the real walls and services. On delivery we check everything against the order, because shortages are much easier to sort before the old kitchen comes out.

Which postcodes in Chelmsley Wood do you work in?

We cover B37 and the streets around them. If you're on the edge of Chelmsley Wood, neighbouring Marston Green and Coleshill are covered too.

What guarantees come with a new kitchen?

Units, worktops, appliances, sinks and taps each carry their own manufacturer's guarantee, and the terms are set out in your quote. Keep the paperwork we hand over, as appliance manufacturers often ask for proof of installation date. If something we've fitted isn't right, call us and we'll come back to look at it.

Who approves kitchen fitting in Chelmsley Wood?

You won't usually need planning permission, but the work must meet Building Regulations. Building control in Chelmsley Wood is provided by Solihull Council or a registered building control approver, and some work is self-certified by registered installers.
